This move is aligned with the strategic direction to leverage on the Aboitiz brand and to position the business as a full-service engineering, procurement, and construction company. ACI will pursue new markets and revenue sources while strengthening its industry foothold and enhancing its value proposition that provides customers with the company’s signature RISQ — Reliability, Integrity, Safety, and Quality. ACI has built a solid reputation for completing safe, on-time, and on-budget projects in power, oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, transportation, and cement sectors.

Albert A. Ignacio, President and Chief Operating Officer, said that the benefit of being part of the Aboitiz Group is the tremendous opportunity to expand our business at a global scale while we synergize with the local strategic business units of Aboitiz like Pilmico, Aboitiz InfraCapital, Republic Cement, and AboitizLand, which have already the paved the way for new and recurring projects.

On its 43rd year in business, ACI bagged numerous projects including the facility expansion of a shipbuilding company in Cebu and modular fabrication work for a plant in Canada. It has a lineup of projects for a power plant in Sarangani, a petrochemical plant in Bataan, The Outlets in Lipa in Batangas, fabrication works for a Korean and a Japanese company, among others. To date, ACI has provided services to clients in 18 countries, offering modular fabrication works for heaters, heat exchangers, and similar specialty services.

In doing this, we are also happy to share that we provide local jobs while we pursue our growth potential in the Engineering and Construction industry, allowing us to truly manifest the Aboitiz brand promise of Advancing Business and Communities.

ACI has also processed more inquiries and requests for quotations from Japanese and Chinese firms, and from both new and repeat clients. Twenty-five percent of its open orders come from Japanese clients. ACI is currently in negotiations with Chinese engineering, procurement, and construction entities either as a joint venture partner, or a major subcontractor for their projects here in the country.

In the tradition of the kauban spirit, ACI also holds an annual Recognition Night to honor individual and group kauban who have achieved professional milestones, safety performance, and other business achievements.

In these exciting times, we are geared up to innovate as we enter new and exciting markets. Throughout our existence and through many projects, Aboitiz Construction is known for our people, the kaubans, who work together to achieve more. Kauban is the local term for teammate.  It signifies people working together to achieve more. Each of our Kauban is armed with the proverbial bugsay (rowing oar) philosophy of the late Bobby Aboitiz, founder and the leader who molded what the company has become today. Aboitiz Construction will carry out the brand of excellence that will fuel us in our efforts to advance business and communities.

This year’s event was held on September 28 at Oakridge Pavilion in Mandaue City, Cebu. This is the time of year when the company celebrates the time-honored kauban philosophy as well as the passion, dedication, and commitment of team members who are the reason behind ACI’s success.
