The Aboitiz Group, through Aboitiz Foundation, has granted 12 bakery livelihood packages to the Office of Participatory Governance in support of the government’s Biyaya ng Pagbabago Program, a poverty alleviation program spearheaded by the Office of Cabinet Secretary.
The bakery sets include an oven, baking tools and accessories, a working table, and an initial supply of flour—the necessary materials needed to start bakery operations.
We’re really happy to be supporting things like this, especially the ones part of our business because that’s what we’re good at. These are the projects that we really like to do. Its core is part of our mission. We only ask that someone will do it properly so that the project will have a real impact.

We’re [also] very proud of this program because this is the first that ‘Biyaya ng Pagbabago’ will be launching on the ground. Thank you very much for this opportunity and I’d like to share this with Usec. Dale Cabrera who brought in this consciousness to the Office of the Cabinet Secretary.
–Undersecretary Gloria Mercado, Office of the Cabinet Secretary
The Office of Participatory Governance will select the local beneficiary groups, 6 in Iligan and 6 in Marawi. Meanwhile, TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) will also be onboard to provide the necessary skills training for the selected beneficiaries.
The bakery starter kits open up livelihood opportunities for the beneficiaries and form part of the Aboitiz Group’s initiatives to drive change for a better world by advancing business and communities.
