Iligan yellow corn farmers advance into entrepreneurship

On the 25th year of Hindang Banana Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (Hindang MPC), its members crossed a milestone by enriching what they already knew about corn production. The 35 farmers, who were among those affected by the Marawi siege, completed a training session on land preparation for crop utilization, crop management, and yield improvement presented by Aboitiz Foundation and Pilmico.


KINDer raises almost Php1M in one day

KINDer, Aboitiz Foundation’s crowdfunding website, gathered almost half a million pesos or Php466,599 during its “12.12 Double Your Kindness Day” fundraiser. This amount was matched by the Foundation, bringing the total amount raised to nearly one million pesos to fund various development projects.

Aboitiz provides first sustainable livelihood in Marawi

As the affected residents like Noni and Jasmine cannot solely depend on government financial assistance, the Aboitiz Group sought to create sustainable forms of livelihood for them through Pilmico and Aboitiz Foundation. Pilmico also provided training for Noni, Jasmine, and their fellow Marawi residents on how to bake and manage a bakery. It will also monitor the progress of the bakery business.

This was definitely not your usual Friday night scene but the lively festivities were matched only by a genuine warmth filling the air as A-People spent their ‘overtime’ to enjoy music and raise funds for a worthy cause.

The year 2017 marked several turning points for the Aboitiz Foundation. From the change in leadership to the innovations in our CSR strategies, we took a more challenging course to translate the Aboitiz Group’s brand promise of advancing business and communities into co-creating safe, empowered, and sustainable communities nationwide.


From noble warriors to noble bakers

Sgt. Eric Ubalde was chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the Noble Bakers Project of the Aboitiz Foundation in partnership with the SOCOM Foundation, under which he, along with 59 other wounded soldiers, underwent a comprehensive bakery management training program provided by Pilmico Foods Corporation.


Empowering Filipino families through sustainable livelihood

Under CARD’s Adopt-a-Branch Program, the Aboitiz Foundation has been helping microfinance units in Tiwi, Calinan, and La Trinidad, benefitting the branches’ 2,846 members. The story of Elizabeth Cuya and how she succeeded in providing for her family’s needs is a shining example of the fruits of the Foundation and CARD’s partnership.

Sustainable style triumphs at the 2017 Aboitiz Green Fashion Revolution in Cebu

Youth urged to act on environment at the Aboitiz GFR Cebu 2017, which coincided with National Day for Youth in Climate Action. This youth-oriented waste management advocacy is brainchild of a group of Aboitiz scholars. GFR was first staged in Cebu and Manila in 2012 and 2016, respectively, through the auspices of the Aboitiz Foundation, the corporate foundation of the Aboitiz Group.

Inspiring children to read for success

AboitizPower business unit APRI launched the Read to Succeed Program, a project that aims to furnish 47 classrooms with reading corners, train 48 teachers on effective reading instruction and creative storytelling, and train 23 team members on creative storytelling.


Hedcor conducts healthcare missions in 3 provinces

Hedcor’s effort of delivering free medical services to the communities was made possible with support from the local government units, municipal and barangay health workers, Bethesda Optical Clinic, Emergency Medical Services-Baguio Chapter, Ilocos Sur Medical Society, Philippine Dental Association-Benguet and Vigan Chapters, Police Dental Team of Camp Bado Dangwa, Philippine Nurses Association-Ilocos Sur Chapter and the Rotary Club- Baguio and Vigan Chapters.
